Assembly member commends 'Kalyppo Kares' initiative

Mr Adolph Briandt, Assembly Member for Kwabenya Electoral Area, has commended Kalyppo Kares for instituting the community health screening initiative to alert parents on the health status of their children.

He said the exercise was necessary because children are now exposed to chemicals that affect their health on daily basis, hence, making them prone to diseases.

Mr Briandt said this during a health screening organised for children from six to 14 years at Dome Kwabenya Community.

The exercise was part of Aquafresh Limited, producers of Kalyppo, one of Ghana’s natural juice brands for childrens’ corporate social responsibility to give back to society especially children, who are their major stakeholders

Mr Briandt urged management to re-organise similar events at least twice, a year to give needy parents in the area the privilege to know the step necessary for their children’s health.

He also appealed to the government to establish a health post for the community to make it easy for the needy families, who are not able to access private hospitals to meet their health care needs.

Mr Chris Nana Ampadu, Kalyppo Kares Project Manager said communities benefiting from the project include Madina, Kwabenya, Jamestown and Tema Community One.

He said during the exercise, the children had full body check including their vital parts, orals and the older ones were also given adolescent checkups.
