Dr. Nana Achiaa Ankrah, a Pharmacist and Agrofood Expert, has underscored the need for families to serve breakfast as a necessary condition to enhance the immune system and maintain good health. According to her, breakfast is very significant for aiding healthy living, but it is often taken for granted, resulting in deficiencies, especially in children.

Dr. Nana Achiaa Ankrah, CEO of Arise Foods Limited, emphasized that breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day because it prevents diseases, including type 2 diabetes and heart disease. She stressed that consuming a safe and high-quality multigrain cereal meal filled with the best nutritional values helps in curbing malnutrition among children.

Eating cereal meals for breakfast should be enriched with nutrients such as iron, calcium, zinc, and protein to support overall immune health by contributing to normal growth and development in children. Explaining breakfast, she said the name (breakfast) depicts the breaking of a night-long fasting period, hence it is important to eat breakfast every morning to facilitate energy levels and boost alertness.

Highlighting another importance of breakfast, she noted that it helps in the academic performance of children who consistently have their breakfast before going to school. Studies indicate that children who eat nutritious breakfasts perform better by exhibiting academic intelligence than those who do not have breakfast.

Dr. Nana Achiaa Ankrah mentioned that breakfast improves concentration, alertness, comprehension, memory, and learning, which aims at performing well in school and at work. She indicated that breakfast also helps pregnant mothers meet nutritional needs for improved well-being throughout the period and afterwards. "Adding dairy products such as milk and yoghurt helps pregnant mothers get the extra nutrition they need," she admonished.

Emphasizing the essence of milk and yoghurt for pregnant mothers, she observed that when milk and yoghurt are added to cereal meals like 'Arise Porridge,' it serves as a good source of iodine essential for healthy fetal development.

Dr. Nana Achiaa Ankrah expressed her commitment that Arise Foods would continually focus on improving nutrition and health status by reducing rates of acute malnutrition in communities with quality productions. According to her, every family must always have their breakfast in the morning for healthy living, and she believes that every child has the right to good health and growth through quality nutrition.
