Mr Abass Ridwan Dawda, the Member of Parliament for the Sissala East Constituency has donated some items to the Tumu Municipal Hospital to support the fight against the coronavirus.
The items included 50 pieces of veronica bucket, 50 bathing bucket, 50 dustbins and 50 liquid soap and washing basins with their base stands, to help curtail the spread of the COVID-19.
Donating the items on behalf of the MP, the Municipal Chief Executive for the area, Mr Nanyua Karim noted that “the donation was part of the MP's support measures towards the fight against the coronavirus.
“You realize that, all these containers are supposed to sit on a base, so another person is working on them, so very soon we will be donating them, this items are for the hospital not any other place, so I implore you to use them for what it is intended for”.
He also reiterated that the Member of Parliament was very committed towards the fight against the virus, hence “he has also pledged to provide fuel to enable Ghana Health Service staff to intensify education and also sensitize the people.
Receiving the donation, Mr Anthony Nwinkara Suma, Administrator of the Hospital, commended the MP for the donation and noted that the donation was timely.
“I want to on behalf of the Hospital convey our gratitude to you and the honourable MP for the donation and we are very grateful for it, the donation is very timely as we are getting closer to the most critical part of the shortage”.
Whiles promising the judicious use of the items for the general wellbeing of the populace, Mr Suma called on the MP to support the Hospital with some Personal Protection equipment (PPEs) and other logistics.
