Dr Alex Ampaabeng, Deputy Minister of Finance, has made a cash donation to 63 tertiary and 40 Senior High School (SHS) students within the Juaboso District of the Western North Region.

Dr Ampaabeng, who is also the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Juaboso Constituency gave an amount of GHC2,000 to each tertiary student and GHC1,000 to each SHS student.

The gesture formed part of the Deputy Finance Minister's initiative to support students within the Juaboso constituency.

Earlier this year, he extended the same support to 22 Basic Education Certificate Examination candidates.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after presenting cheques to the beneficiaries, Dr Ampaabeng said he was committed to helping the needy but brilliant students within the Constituency with their financial needs to access quality 0. education.

He pledged to collaborate with traditional authorities and corporate institutions to cater for more students from now on and asked the electorate to vote for him as the next Member of Parliament for Juaboso to implement programmes for the development of the constituency.

Master Louis Coffie, a Second Year Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations Management at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), on behalf of the other beneficiaries, lauded the Deputy Finance Minister for supporting them, saying, "Such offers are hard to come by within the Juaboso District."

He called on other benevolent organisations and individuals to emulate what Dr Ampaabeng was doing for students in the Juaboso area to help produce a quality workforce for the district.
