The Eastern Regional Hospital, Koforidua, has taken delivery of medical equipment and consumables costing about US$15,000.00 to enhance the quality of care for the sick.

These included surgical machines, surgical gowns, ureteral catheter trays, sterile general-purpose pack, and other medical items.

They were a donation from the Sarkodee-Adoo family of Koforidua.

Mr. Robert Sarkodee-Adoo, its spokesperson, said this was a continuation of humanitarian effort started by their late grandfather, Julius Sarkodee Addo, through the donation of land for the construction of the hospital.

He pledged regular visits to the facility to provide the needed support for its efficient operation.

He also hinted of plans to adopt a ward at the hospital and said it would be named after their deceased grandpa.

Dr. Kwame Anim Boamah, the Medical Director, receiving the items, said they were grateful to the family for the gesture.

He indicated that the facility had been able to refurbish all the wards from its own internally generated revenue.

The management was also taking steps to expand the male medical ward and create cubicles to give the needed privacy to patients.

Dr. Boamah said it had put good customer care at the heart of everything it had been doing to make sure that anybody who visited, would leave satisfied with the quality of service.
