The Food and Drugs Authority has banned the sale of the H&H Infant Cereal and H&H Nutritious Milk Powder.

Investigations conducted by the regulator have revealed that the products are not safe for the consumption of infants, contrary to claims by the manufacturers.

The FDA has therefore ordered the importers to recall the products since they have not been certified for sale.

Speaking to Starr News, Public Relations Officer of the FDA James Lartey said the food authority cannot guarantee the wholesomeness of the products for the Ghanaian public.

“These two products in question have not been given market authorisation. The FDA has not given its approval. The products have indications as targeting children but per the constitution of the products, they cannot be given to infants.

So what the FDA is saying is that consumers and members of the public should not buy these products,” he warned.
