Gomoaman Health Insurance Scheme commences operation

Apam (C/R), Feb 10, GNA - The Gomoaman Health Insurance Scheme has started issuing identity cards to registered members for use at any government clinic or hospital.

These were contained in a statement issued at Apam in the Gomoa District by the Scheme Manager Dr Theophilus Koomson. It notified and asked residents especially those who had not registered to do so with their Community Health Insurance Committees or at the office at Apam.

He urged the people who have not receive or collected their NHIS ID cards to do so at the Apam office.

The statement confirmed that the scheme took off in December, 2005 and denied that the delay was a result of ineffective and inefficient planning by the management and staff. It advised the people to pay their 72,000 cedis premium to enable them to enjoy the benefit of the scheme.
