I'm determined to make life comfortable for health workers - Mahama

President John Mahama says his government will continue to provide and expand health facilities in the country in order to create a healthy environment for health workers to deliver efficiently.

Addressing a gathering of residents and health officials at the Tarkwa Government Hospital during his tour of the western region, President Mahama said the government is conscious of the challenges confronting the health sector and is working with the relevant stakeholder to resolve them.

The President made the remarks during his recent thank you tour of the Western and Central regions.

“We know the amount of work you put in and it’s government’s determination to make life better for you and to make your working environment better,” the president said.

According President Mahama, even though living conditions are better than before, the government will do more to ensure that every health worker will receive more.

He said “let us grow the economy together and expand the cake and when we expand the cake then we can all have a bigger share of it.”

President Mahama said the new hospital which has been built in the area to take care of the health needs of the people will be stocked with equipment in due course.

“I promise you, I am going to fast track the [procurement] of the equipment so that you can move from here. The next time I come here, I am coming for the commissioning of the new hospital,” he assured.
