Klutse urges Upper Denkyira to register with the NHIS

Dunkwa-On-Offin (C/R), Feb 12, GNA - Dr Eramus Yao Klutse, the Upper Denkyira District Director of Health Services in the Central Region, has appealed to the people in the district to register with the health insurance scheme.

He stressed, "I want to encourage every dick, tom and harry to register with the scheme".

Speaking to newsmen at Dunkwa-On-Offin on the progress of the scheme in the district, Dr Klutse said the implementation had started and that 10 people had benefited from it after they underwent surgical operation and left for home without paying anything. "Ten persons who underwent surgical operation at the District Hospital here have gone home without paying a pesewa", Dr Klutse stressed.

He said once people had started accessing health care with the scheme, it was important for those who had still not registered to start doing so and also pay up their premiums. He urged various associations in the district to educate their members on the need to embrace the NHIS and register. He explained that the scheme formed part of the government's policy to make quality health care accessible to the most vulnerable in the society.

Dr Klutse therefore, advised the people against any formed opinion or perception about the scheme since it was a healthy idea.
