The Lapaz Community Hospital, in collaboration with Ghana Blood Service, would organise blood donation and free health screening at the premises of the hospital at Lapaz in Accra on Monday, May 2.
Dr Mrs Joy Tettey, Medical Director of the hospital who disclosed this in Accra on Monday, said the exercise formed part of activities marking the 12th anniversary celebration of the hospital.
She said the exercise also formed part of the hospital’s corporate social responsibilities.
Dr Tettey said: “It is the policy of the hospital to support the community in which it operated.”
She said the hospital, which was established 12 years ago has been delivering quality healthcare.
“We believe in quality healthcare, and that it is only when you are healthy that you can contribute to national development,” Dr Tettey said.
The Medical Director noted that the daily attendance of the hospital has increased drastically due to the quality healthcare it is offering.
Dr Tettey gave the assurance that the hospital would continue to champion quality healthcare which has been an issue in the country.
She urged Ghanaians to take active interest in the National Sanitation Exercise instituted by the government.
This, Dr Tettey said is the only surest way of fighting malaria and other diseases.
She advised Ghanaians to register with the National Health Insurance Scheme to enable them to access free and quality medical care.
Hepatitis ‘B’, Sickle Cell, Anaemia, Jaundice and Malaria are some of the diseases expected to be screened.
