The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD) has expressed appreciation to the Asantehene, Otumfour Osei Tutu II, Mr Samuel Sarpong, Ashanti Regional Minister and the whole Asanteman for participating in the National Sanitation Day exercise.
The ministry also extends the appreciation to all Meropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies in the Ashanti Region, the Armed Forces, Regional Police Command, Regional Fire Service, National Service Personnel, shop owners, transport operators, Kumawood and the general public for ensuring the success of the on Saturday, December 3, 2104.
A statement signed by Mr Isaac Dupey, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry on behalf of the Minister, Mr Julius Debrah, and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Thursday said: "We wish to take the opportunity to inform the general public that the next NSD is on Saturday, February 7, 2015, schedule to take place in the Northern Region.
"The Minister and his two Deputies wish to state that the massive turn out on January 3 is an indication that the public is aware of the dangers that filth poses to our health, therefore the need to keep our environments clean."
The Ministry thanked Ghanaians for participating in the exercise which ensured its success.
