MTN Ghana, has organized a massive health walk in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital as part of activities marking this year's Ashantifest celebration.
Hundreds of people participated in the eight-kilometer walk, which started from the Nhyiaeso office of MTN through some principal streets in the Metropolis, ending at the Baba Yara Stadium.
At the Baba Yara Stadium, they were taken through rigorous aerobic exercises by physical instructors amidst lots of fun.
A team of health professionals were also on hand to screen participants and provided medication for their basic health needs.
Mr. Simon Amo, the Senior Manager, General Trade for the Northern Sector, told the media after the walk that it formed part of series of activities lined up for the 2019 Ashantifest celebration.
He said MTN as the market leader in telecommunications in the country was passionate about the health of Ghanaians since their patronage kept the company in business.
This, he said, was important because a healthy population would have great impact on their business.
He said the company through the MTN Foundation would continue to invest in the areas of health, education and economic empowerment to impact on the lives of the very people whose patronage sustained the company.
Mr. Amo applauded the Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu II and the people of the Region, for their tremendous support to the Ashantifest, since its introduction nine years ago.
