Medical doctor and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Greenfield Medical Centre, Dr. Richard Hagan, has said that masturbation is a complex problem and cannot be solved merely on the surface.
Speaking on masturbation and its implications, he said solving masturbation requires serious medical and psychological healing for the persons involved.
The homotoxicologist said what we see, hear or the environment we live in may have an influence on us.
He indicated that the things people are sexually exposed to, influence them to masturbate.
He said on the medical side, masturbation is not wrong but there is a side effect to it.
He said the good side of masturbation releases tension.
He explained to the host, people want to experience sexually explicit things and when they are not able to find that satisfaction, they tend to sexually gratify themselves.
He said in medical terms, one is not required to marry before sex due to the tensions involved.
Dr. Richard Hagan said the few of making sexual mistakes including unwanted pregnancies force people to masturbate or sexually satisfy themselves.
He said masturbation becomes an addiction when practiced for a long time and from his years of practice; he has come across different cases of masturbation.
The doctor stressed that masturbation is a common activity along with young people and those who do it do so in order to explore their body, feel pleasure, and release built-up sexual tension.
He said it occurs among people of all backgrounds, genders, and races.
He posited that there are actually no physically harmful side effects of masturbation but excessive masturbation can harm your relationships and everyday life.
He said people may feel guilty about masturbation because of cultural, spiritual, or their religious beliefs.
