The 11th edition of the annual Health Walk by the residents of Achimota Mile 7 recieved massive support from the Member of Parliament and a number of people from the area.

Organized by the inhabitants of Mile 7, the 10 kilometers walk aimed at fostering unity among the youth whiles educating the youth to stop endolging in the abuse of drugs especially 'Tramadol'.

According to Carlos Fugar, chairman of the planning committee his desire to see a community thriving and healthy living is what inspires him to host such an event.

"I'm giving back to society what God has given me which is to foster unity and among the entire youth. I want the youth to shun away from social vices such as the use of Tramadol which is now the current illicit drug that is trending," Carlos Fugar said.

Carlos stated that with a collective or individual effort Ghanaians can assist in eradicating drug abuse in the country.

"During the walk you saw some of the young guys already dazed and it's the effect of this Tramadol. I have talked to them and I informed them that life is what you make it, if we had taken life as it is I don't think we would have been where we are today. So I want to inculcate in them the spirit of togetherness and fitness."

Hon. Anim Moses, the Member of Parliament for Trobu Constituency also donated a cheque worth GHC 2,000 to organizing future health walks. He also assured his constituents of his utmost support and pleaded that he would make himself available with the ample time he gets.

Hon. Anim said, "I know the challenges and I was here to ensure that things were done successfully. Today the precious time that we have shared has given me the opportunity to donate GHC 2,000 to support the walk."

He added, "now I'm not only working for Trobu alone, I'm a leader in parliament as well, I move around the country and as much as possible so anytime I get the opportunity I will offer my support to you."

In appreciation for the donation, the organizers expressed their satisfaction and promised that the next health walk would be a huge success.
