Koforidua, Aug. 9, GNA - The Eastern Regional Secretariat of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), in collaboration with the German International Cooperation (GIZ), has organized a free health screening exercise in Koforidua. Over four hundred people were screened of diabetes, hypertension, HIV/AIDS and body mass index.
Speaking at the function, the NADMO Regional Coordinator, Mr Ransford Owusu Boakye, observed that, it was very important for everyone to know his or her health status so that those who need care could seek early treatment.
He called on the people of Koforidua to take their health issues serious and try to find time to check their health status regularly to enable them to take early precautions when necessary. Mr Boakye said his office was negotiating with other bodies to help organize more health screening exercises in the New Juaben Municipality, to ensure that as many people as possible benefit from the programme. 9 Aug. 11
