Dr Kofi Asare, Ashanti Regional Director of Ghana Health Services, who announced this at Fenaso-Fawoman in the Amansie Central District of Ashanti, on Tuesday, said under the programme, health facilities and accommodation for staff would be constructed. He was addressing a durbar of the chiefs and people of the town during which a 230 million-cedi health post and a staff quarters constructed by the Building and Road Research Institute (BRRI), was handed over to the GHS.
The structure designed by BRRI and constructed with burnt-bricks, is the first of its kind in the country, but owing to its aesthetic beauty and reduced cost, the GHS has decided that the same designs be replicated throughout the country.

Nana Kofi Bio, chief of the town, expressed gratitude to the government for the project and pledged to take good care of the facility and staff, who would be posted to man the health post.
