Nyaho Medical Centre organizes 2nd health bazaar

Nyaho Medical Centre on Saturday, December 9, organised its 2nd annual health bazaar at the premises of its facility in Accra.

Speaking to the media, Managing Director of the Centre, Dr. Elikem Tamaklo said the motive of the health bazaar is part of the hospital’s efforts to promote the health and well-being of its patients ahead of the Christmas season.

According to him, people engage in various activities that do not promote a healthy living during the yuletide so they decided to organise the bazaar to educate and empower people with the knowledge to stay healthy during this festivity.

Aside the health screening, a blood donation exercise was held to aid the National Blood Bank to save the life of patients in need of blood.

“We are entering Christmas and you see people coming in with so many accidents and the national blood bank does not have enough blood, so as a hospital, we have to partner with them to raise awareness of healthy living,” he stated.

Dr. Tamaklo further urged persons at the health bazaar to always eat healthy foods and exercise daily to prevent lots of diseases in the body.

“Healthy living is so important but people are underestimating the impact of focusing on their diet and fitness. We believe that when people focus on their diet and fitness it will solve a lot of problems,” he said.
