The Osu Home School Old Students Association (OHSOSA) on Saturday undertook a health walk, as part of their activities to mark their 65th-anniversary celebrations.

The six-month anniversary, which started on June 29 to December 15, 2019, is under the theme: “Rising to Rebuild Our Alma Mater”.

Over 200 people partook in the walk, which began at the Osu Home Primary School through to some principal streets of Osu and La and ended at the Osu Home Junior High School.

Speaking in an interview with GNA, Mr Alfred Toppar, the Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee, said the idea behind the anniversary was to mobilize the people together in the effort to support the school.

Mr Toppar said improving the academic standard of the school and the renovation of the school infrastructures were their main objective for the anniversary.

“The two main projects we want to tackle is the academic standard of the school. We want to put in place mechanisms and activities that would help improve the academic standard of the students such as assisting them in extra classes by paying the fees and getting them all the necessary textbooks.

The second project is the infrastructures and we want to undertake a massive renovation of the school buildings to make the students feel comfortable whiles learning, he said.

Mr Toppar called on all Old students to come on board and help rebuild their alma mater and also appealed to cooperate with organizations to aid their efforts.

The anniversary activities would continue on July 27, a Speech and Prize Giving Day would be held to honour deserving staff amongst others.
