A Community Health Planning and Service (CHPS) compound is being built for the people of Tengzuug, a community in the Talensi District to cater for their health needs and make it easier for them to receive medical care.
The compound, which cost GH¢ 24,637.50 comprise of three bed rooms, toilet, bath, OPD, consulting room and a kitchen.
It was awarded by the Talensi District Assembly to Messrs Koason Kulmalbeog Enterprise, a Tongo based contractor.
Mr Samuel Kwame Tete, Engineer at the Talensi District Assembly, disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after an inspection of the project site with the contractor, at Tengzuug.
Mr Tete said the project, which started last July was expected to be completed by the end of September this year.
Naaba Zotentaar Suhbazaa Gologdan, the contractor, said work on the project was progressing steadily and appealed to the District Assembly to ensure timely payment of contract money to enable him to finish the work on schedule.
The contractor also appealed to the Government through the Talensi District Assembly to provide the area with electricity as well as rehabilitate the deplorable road, since the place served as a tourist community which attracted visitors.
He said electric poles presented to the area during the era of the late President Evans Atta Mills were rotting away, and called upon the Talensi District Assembly to visit the area to inspect the poles to make sure they were put to good use.
