Program held to educate young girls on hygiene

A program to educate young girls on personal health and hygiene has been held in Tema.

Organized by Hope for Future Generations, an NGO, the School Health Education program, seeks to educate over 10,000 young girls in the country and is presently focused on girls in basic schools.

Ms Maya Yazbeck, Project Manager of Sanita, producers of Fresh Days Panty Liners and Private Sanitary Pads, in a brief presentation, said besides promoting good health, the confidence of young girls gets enhanced with such education and knowledge.

She urged the young girls to spread the message to their colleagues who could not attend the program.

Ms Yazbeck said Sanita intends to educate young girls on personal health and hygiene in Ghana, and other neighboring African countries adding that Ghana is the second country after Ivory Coast to host the program.

The project is sponsored by Sanita in partnership with the Ghana Education Service and the Ghana Health Service.
