Nsawam (E/R), Nov. 5, GNA - Mrs Jane Okrah, Executive Director of Family Health Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in Accra at the weekend called on TB patients to take right type of food after taking their prescribed drugs. They were also advised to avoid smoking and drinking to avoid the spread of the disease.
Mrs Okrah made the call after a day's workshop for about 100 community leaders and volunteers drawn from Akwapem South District of the Eastern Region.
She said the programme was organised by Health Foundation and sponsored by the National TB Control Programme and Global Foundation. Mr Awor Twi Gideon, Project Co-ordinator for Family Health Foundation appealed to the participants to impart what they were taught to others.
Alhaji Abudu Dramani Tan, Akuapem South District TB Co-ordinator said about 100 volunteers have been registered in the district. 06 Nov. 07
