Yendi Hospital gets new pharmacy block

The Yendi Municipal Assembly has handed over a GH¢ 250,432 pharmacy block to the Yendi Municipal Hospital.

The block includes out-patients’ dispensary, in-patients’ dispensary, medicine information and adherence counseling centre, computer room, data entry room, billing centre and preparation room.

The Yendi Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Zakaria Issah who handed over the keys, said the facility was funded from the District Development Facility (DDF) funds.

He said apart from the Pharmacy block the Assembly had also put up two bungalows at Yendi for the hospital and a CHPS compound for the Kamshegu Community

Mr Zakaria said the Assembly would soon put up a new mortuary for the Hospital because it is a referral centre which serves Yendi Municipality, Gusheigu, Saboba, Karaga, Zabzugu, Tatale, Nanumba North and Nanumba South districts.

He said the Assembly has handed over the rehabilitated Bungalow of the Yendi Divisional Police Commander to the Ghana Police Service, rehabilitated Nasir-deen Islamic School’s block of six classrooms, rehabilitated Balogu Primary Nine Unit Classroom Block, all funded from the DDF.

The Yendi Municipal Hospital Administrator Mr. Zakariah Yakubu who received the keys of the project on behalf of the hospital said they have been hoping for the project and hope to put it into good use for their clients.

Mr. Yakubu thanked the Assembly for the facility and said the Hospital would cooperate with the Assembly for more projects for the hospital.
