What a shame. It is not every place that there is a 'nearest' government hospital. Where are the monies collected from Ghanaians to finance the NHIS?

The nearest Govt Hospitals and other service providers have not received payment for Sept 2012 up to date. How are they expected to provide the service. With what money.

The government has come clean to say that we are not generating enough revenue to meet our ever increasing expenses, hence a deficit in the budget read. All of this money shortage feeds into no cash to run the health sector as efficiently as it should. We should focus our energies on debating issues that will help us to increase such revenue any means possible otherwise today its health, the next will be teachers on strike for non payment of wages...

Performance contract or none, if the same government or president that you lobbying hasn't released the funds to pay the hospitals will you use money from your savings to pay? Get serious and deal with situations pragmatically and stop blowing unnecessary self trumpets!! You think the technocrats employed at the NHIA don't have no families who use the hospitals too??

this apology letter does not even have a signiture appended to it. who wrote it in the name of the NHIA? our educational systems needs a change becouse we are producing irresponsible leaders.

Wadata, clearly u dont understand the issues. What u shd be advocating rather is for our public finance administrative systems to be simplified. Do u know how long it takes to process or get funds from govt? The bureaucracies alone? NHIS has a lot of money 2.5% NHIL in the consolidated fund. Do u know how long it takes to release those monies? U are misfiring!

Bansi, clearly u are getting personal with this. Should the strategic division make govt release the 2.5% NHIL in the consolidated fund? What u shd be asking is why does it take our successive govts so long to release statutory funds to the relevant bodies, like GetFund and NHIA? The bureaucracies are just too much. And it is not just one govt!
