Cape Coast, Sept. 8, GNA - A re-constituted Executive body of the Central Region Hockey Association was inaugurated at University of Cape Coast at the weekend as part of activities marking the Fetu Afahye Festival of the Chiefs and people of the Oguaa Traditional Area. The 20-member Executive has Mr. Hebert Kwesi Graham, headmaster of Adisadel Senior High School as Chairman with Mr. Eric Sagoe as Secretary.
Mr. Richard Akapokavi, Vice Chairman of National Hockey Association who performed the inauguration charged the members of the association to rekindle the interest of students from the Junior Secondary and Senior High School levels to participate in the sport. He assured the executives and members of the support of the National Association in all their programmes and used the occasion to donate 20 hockey sticks, hockey balls and two pairs of goalkeepers outfit to the Association. ` Mr. Beresford Amui, Central Region Development Officer of the National Sports Council who received the items thanked the National Association for the gesture which he said would go a long way in popularizing the sport in the Region. 08 Sept. 08
