The male hockey team of SSNIT, Trustees, are poised to take all three points at stake as they take on Legon Knights to round off the Sapholda Hockey league first round of matches on Saturday, June 24, at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium in Accra.

Trustees and Legon Knights would play the sixth match of the day at 1500hours.

Trustees, leading the pack in the Male category with 12 points from five matches, have recorded four victories and a defeat, whilst Legon Knights are without a win in five games played so far.

The coach of Legon Knights would have to come up with a strategy to brush off competition from the gallant defense of Trustees made up of Captain Saliya Nsalbini, Leslie Banor, George Asiedu, Samuel Afari and Joseph Yeboah.

On paper, Trustees appears stronger, however, Legon Knights would have no option than to beat their opponents to gain their first three points after losing all previous matches in the league.

The first match day of the day in the male division would be between Exchequers and Reformers at 06:30 hours. The two teams are currently occupying the fourth and fifth positions respectively on the league.

Exchequers has accumulated 10 points from five matches, whilst their opponents had amassed six points from the same number of matches, having won two games and losing three.

In the Seniors category, leaders Sapholda would battle Ghana Commercial Bank’s team, Golden Sticks at 08:00hours, with Extinguishers locking horns with Ark ladies in the Women’s division at 09:30 hours. Both teams are on three points after four matches.

Ark Boys who are without points after three matches would play leaders Real Ambassadors whilst Tema Manhean takes on Young Financiers in the youth category.

The last match of the day would see sixth placed Ark Men clashing with second placed GRA for the maximum points at 17:00 hours in the Men’s division.
