Ashgold Hold Hearts

Obuasi, Sept. 11, GNA - Obuasi Ashgold on Sunday forced Accra Hearts of Oak to a goalless drawn game at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium to give Kumasi Asante Kotoko a three goal lead ahead of the GT Premier League.

In an uncompromising encounter, it was Ashgold who in the early stages of the game probed for the opener but Hearts keeper Sammy Adjei proved unbeaten as he made two sticky saves from complicated situations. Hearts nearly snatched the opener in the latter stages of the first half but Adjah-Tetteh's shot missed target narrowly.

The visitors resumed the second half with more determination in an effort to annex the three points but the attackers ended up wasting a lot of set pieces.

Prince Tagoe however made a gallant effort for Hearts in the 55th minute with terrific drive but the shot went off target. Hearts introduced two fresh limbs by bringing on George Eranio and Joe Louis into the game in search of a goal but the effort of the duo was not enough to fetch them the maximum points till the final whistle.
