At the Kumasi Sports Stadium, King Faisal beat Brong-Ahafo United 1-0 in their mid-week Zone 'A' Premier league match.
The only goal of the match was scored in the 34th minute by Owusu Ampomah.
Both teams went into action after observing a minute's silence in memory of referee Samuel Kyeremeh of Sunyani who died on Saturday at an annual physical fitness test for referees in the Northern sector at the Kumasi Sports stadium.
Faisal nearly opened the scores in the third minute but Ben Wilson shot into the hands of goalkeeper Lovelace Neequaye. United counter attacked but could not penetrate the impregnable defence of Faisal.
After recess, Faisal continued to probe for more goals but the defence of United stood gallantly until the final whistle.
