Kumasi, June 25, GNA - Kumasi King Faisal F/C drew 2-2 with visiting Tema Youth in their Onetouch mid-week Premier League encounter at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. King Faisal took the lead in a grand style in the 26th minute through Abraham Basit when he connected home a perfect cross from Osman Basiri in a goalmouth melee after squandering myriads of chances from the onset.
The relegation threatened lads from Tema accepted the challenge and mounted series of attacks and managed to equalize in the 40th minute when Ekow Benson hit the net with a powerful drive from Bernard Akuffo's in-swinger to end the half. On resumption, King Faisal came in strongly and made series of forays and this paid off for them to score their second goal through Samad Oppong Abdul in the 49th minute when he shot home a cross from Eric Agyeman from the left flank. King Faisal relaxed after this goal and allowed the visitors to exert pressure on them and they had a glaring penalty in the 54th minute in a goal mouth scramble but referee Charles Nyarko from Cape Coast overlooked their appeals. Tema Youth continued to fight aggressively for the equalizer and this came their way in the 65th minute when Bernard Akuffo delivered a thunderbolt of a shot from a rebound. After the equaliser, King Faisal tried to make series of incursions for the leader but the Tema Youth lads who appeared to be satisfied with the score line resorted to delay tactics until the referee brought proceedings to an end. 25 June 08
