Glo Ghana strikes partnership with ManUtd

Accra, Aug. 24, GNA – Glo Ghana Limited has struck a strategic partnership deal with English Premier League (EPL) side Manchester United to promote their respective brands.
The partnership, which will seek to consolidate Globacom’s profile in the West Africa sub-region, will also afford fans of the English side in Ghana the opportunity to have a closer link with the Club.
Patrick Awotwi, Head of Business at Glo Ghana, said the relationship will provide subscribers of Globacom the opportunity to visit the famous “Theater of Dreams” at Old Trafford through a specially arranged raffle.
According to Awotwi, the lucky winners will have an all expenses paid trip to the Old Trafford, with winners from other Glo subscribers from Benin and Nigeria also participating.
He said the partnership will also provide lucky Glo subscribers once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of meeting their favourite team at their home ground.
Awotwi noted that the company will also launch another Glo-Manchester United Alliance and unveil a mobile website exclusively for fans of the Club to access information, icons, souvenirs and games among other events to satisfy their passion.
He indicated that the partnership between Glo Ghana and Manchester United gives credence to the global status of the communications company, which understands and connects the passion of its customers.
“Through this partnership we hope to build talents and passion and consolidate the bridge of friendship and brotherliness between Europe and Africa”. Awotwi stated.
Pete Schmeichel, an Ambassador of Manchester United who was at the function to represent the Club, lauded the partnership and described it as a move that will brings fans of the Club in Ghana closer to Manchester United.
He said the Club is impressed with the over six million fans of the Club in the country.
Schmeichel said the large number of Manchester fans in the country gives him enough conviction that the ELP giants may consider visiting Ghana in the nearest future.
