Sekondi, August 28, GNA - Sekondi Hasaacas played a determined game to beat visiting Real Tamale United (RTU) 3-1 in their GT Premier League match at the Gyandu Park on Sunday.
It was RTU who drew the first blood in the early stages of the match when Gafaru Abdulai scored a beautiful goal in the seventh minute. Hasaacas took up the challenge and pushed more men up front with their goalie, Michael Addo standing resolutely between the marauding RTU attackers and victory.
Daniel Acquaye got the equaliser for Hasaacas in the 25th minute from a free kick a few metres from RTU's goal area.
The much needed equaliser gave the home the inspiration to attack in droves but erratic shooting upfront denied them another goal to end the first half one goal apiece.
On resumption of the second half, the two teams made changes but it was Hasaacas who benefited from it when Sameed Suraj in the 62nd minute got the second goal for his side through a solo effort. RTU's attack was weakened when their hard working striker, Akwasi Soale in was shown the red card for rough play.
In the 70th minute, RTU's enterprising goalie, Mohammed Imoro Opass was injured in a goalmouth melee and his position was taken over by Michael Abu.
Hasaacas piled on the pressure on the visitors and increased their scores in the 81st minute through Moses Alidu with a low header from a corner kick.
Hasaacas who were clearly on top of affairs from then on squandered a lot of begging chances bringing the final scores to 3-1 in favour of the home side.
