Kumasi, Dec. 20, GNA - Sekondi Hasaacas played a determined game to hold Kumasi Asante Kotoko to 1-1 draw in their Glo Premier League match played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi on Sunday.
After the referee's whistle went for the end of proceedings, the crest- fallen players of Kotoko were stuck to the pitch with their heads bowed down while their coach Paa Kwesi Fabien stood a confused man.
The angry supporters of Kotoko who saw their idol club lose to their arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak 1-0 in their last week Premier match in Accra could not believe their eyes considering the unimpressive performance of the players and attributed the problems to the
coach. It was Kotoko who took the lead in the 18th minute through Kabiru Moro who connected
home from enterprising Gideon Baah's shot from the left flank after series of attacks. The visitors accepted the challenge and worked hard in search of the equalizer which
eventually came their way in 49th minute. Hasaacas Emmanuel Ankobea's shot in the box was too hot for keeper Soulama
Abdoulaye to handle as the ball sailed over his head. It was skipper Joseph Bisah who took the ball and dribbled through the defenders of
Kotoko before planting the ball on the path of Ankobea to "do the do" in the 49th minute to
break the deadlock. With their pride at stake, Kotoko made series of forays and nearly took the lead in the
86th minute but a shot from Gideon Baah hit the cross bar and went off target In the 86th minute, Hasacaas also came close to scoring but Bisah instead of shooting at
goal with only keeper Soulama to beat gave a pass to a colleague who wasted the chance. After the miss, Hasacaas packed their defence making it difficult for the Kotoko strikers to
penetrate as they went on rampage at the latter stages to find the winner but to avail until the
final whistle.
