Accra, July 16, GNA - Alhaji Grunsah's King Faisal played an impressive game to hold Liberty Professionals to a goalless draw in an outstanding league tie played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
Though the 'Nokia Boys' dominated play, they were unable to translate their superiority into goals as they consistently missed their chances whenever they made incursions upfront.
Due to a heavy down pour before the encounter, the slippery nature of the pitch made ball control very difficult from the onset but Faisal were able to settle down as their midfield machinery revolving around ex-Kotoko skipper, Godwin Ablordey won almost all the 50-50 ball for his side.
Both teams made occasional threats at goal but to no avail.
From recess however, Faisal took full control of the game and seemed the most likely side to take the lead as they carried the game to the Sly Tetteh lads in all department of the game.
Liberty's goalkeeper Kotie Blankson, however, stole the show with some decisive saves to deny the Kumasi lads the winner.
The goalie saved two shots directed at goal in the dying minutes after Faisal had given the Liberty defence of Moses Abban, Essuman Mustepha, and Sammy Addo extra work to do.
