Kotoko Win

Cape Coast, Nov. 26, GNA - Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Sunday beat Obuasi Ashgold 1-0 in their Onetouch Premier League match at the Robert Mensah Sports stadium in Cape Coast.

After both teams had missed countless scoring chances at the initial stages, it was Kotoko who broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute when midfielder Edmund owusu Ansah scored the opener from Aziz Ansah's pass. Two minutes later Ashgold hit back and nearly equalised but their play-maker, Emmanuel Osei Kuffuor with only the keeper to beat shot over the bar.

Back from recess, Ashgold took absolute command of the game pinning Kotoko into their own half for a greater part of the game creating some scoring chances but their forward line failed to utilize them till the end of proceedings.

Real Sportive and Tema Youth drew 0-0 in their Onetouch Premier League local derby played at the Tema Sports Stadium. Sportive nearly went ahead early in the match when Isaac Boakye's volley in the 18th minute found Seidu Yahaya who shot wide in front of goal.

Tema Youth also had a golden chance to score in the 39th minute but goal pacher Edward Affum messed up the chance. In the 75th minute, Sportive had another opportunity to snatch the three maximum points at the expense of their opponents but Enzme Mends fumbled with a pass from Alhassan Nuhu. From the 80th minute, Tema Youth piled up a late pressure on their opponents, shooting from all angles but goalkeeper James Nannor denied them any goal.

Ibrahim Dushie of Tema Youth won the best player award.
