The Ghana Football Association has confirmed that the 2009/2010 Glo Premier League will kick off on October 18, 2009.
Presently, clubs are registering players for the new season as the process begun September 25 and will run till October 1 after which the publication and verification exercise commences, lasting two weeks.
The sport body has announced that three clubs that participated in the 2008/2009 Glo Premier League have been confirmed demoted to Division One
A statement from the FA also announced that three new clubs from Division One have been promoted to the elite league.
"Following the disposal of the court case brought against the Ghana Football Association by one Daniel Rockson a supporter of Tema Youth Football Club, the Ghana Football Association informs clubs and the general public that the following Premier
League Clubs have been demoted to Division One-Gamba All Blacks,Tema Youth and Sporting Mirren "Accordingly, the following Division One Clubs have been promoted to the Premier League- Accra Great Olympics, New Edubiase United and Aduana Stars," the FA statement read.
