Liberty Beat Bofoakwa

Visiting Liberty Professionals beat Tano Bofoakwa, at their own backyard by two goals to one in their Onetouch Premiership game played at the Sunyani Coronation Park.

Kissi Richard put Liberty ahead in the 28th minute with a shot after beating an off-side trap and two defenders in the penalty box. Three face-to-face situations fell in the way of Bofoakwa within ten minutes after recess but substitute, striker Kwesi Boateng, who brought much change to Bofo's play upfront and orchestrated most of the dangerous moves, had a difficult time finding the net.

Class One referee Joe Debrah from Kumasi sent Yaw Alexander of Bofo off, for a bookable offence after a vicious tackle on an opponent. Despite the numerical disadvantage, Bofo's Ibrahim Abubakari struck home beautifully at the top right corner for the equaliser in the 71st minute after he had beaten two defenders to the ball in the penalty box. He got another chance in a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper four minutes later, but his kick went waywardly for a goal-kick.

Liberty finally sealed the doom for their opponents when Yaw Antwi carpeted a shot in the 80th minute into the net for the winner.

Play maker, Michael Helegbe had a spectacular opportunity to increase the tally for his side, three minutes to full time, but he was held in check by a resolute Bofoakwa defence.
