Accra, Nov. 22, GNA - Liberty Professionals scored a goal in each half to drown an already sinking visiting Sekondi Eleven Wise in an entertaining Glo Premier League meet at the Dansoman Carl Reindolf Park on Sunday. Wise who required a win to lift themselves from the foot of the 16-team League table, began the game well and gave Liberty a fight that ensured there was very little to choose between the two sides until the host struck on the stroke of half time.
Even though Liberty came close o scoring in a few times, they had to wait till the blink of recess when Kevin Kwaku Kouadio connected a long cross from the middle with a one time shot that beat goalkeeper Mohammed Alhassan in posts.
In-between play, it was Kofi Owusu who should have sent the host in front but he messed up the glaring opportunity that turned Alhassan into a hero.
Just when Wise appeared to have upped their game from the recess, Liberty struck again against the run of play when Francis Moton opened up the visitor's defence before slotting home in a manner that drew admiration from the scanty fans dotted around the Park.
The goal demoralised Wise who were lucky to travel back to Sekondi with two goals disadvantage after a porous second half performance. 22 Nov. 09
