Accra, July 19, GNA - Suhum Maxbees were routed with a humiliating 4-0 defeat by Zaytuna in their Division One outstanding League match played at the Indafa Park in Accra on Monday.
The match was rescheduled for Monday following a heavy downpour on Sunday that flooded the field and the match officials had to postpone it.
Zaytuna's Robert Akosah opened the scores in the 22nd minute with a classic goal to end the first half.
On resumption of the second half, Richard Addo made it 2-0 for Zaytuna in the 58th minute following a two man move. The game was brought to a temporary hold up for about seven minutes when the referee flashed his red card on the Maxbees striker, Alhassan Nasa for attacking an opponent and this brought officials of Maxbees onto the field to protest but eventually sanity was restored for the game to continue.
Zaytuna took advantage of their numerical advantage to put more pressure on the visitors and no wonder they scored their third goal through MacPherson Owusu in the 76th minute following the weak and porous defensive build-up of the Maxbees.
The red card shown to Nasa seemed to have demoralised the players of Maxbees and Aziz Allotey took advantage of the sloppy marking to slot home his side's fourth goal in the 85th minute to seal the doom of the visitors.
