New entrants B.A. Stars pip Kpando Heart of Lion

Sunyani Sept. 05, GNA - New entrants B.A. Stars pipped visiting Kpando Heart of Lions 1-0 when Daniel Coomson Larbi converted a penalty kick awarded them in the 43rd minute to chalk a first home win. Even though they lost the match, captain Kweku Andoh and his Kpando lads were not humiliated as they showed their fighting spirit and experience.

An effective defensive work by goalkeeper Mohammed Nurudeen, formerly of Kessben United, who was ably supported by Osei Kwame and Abubakari Sadik in defence denied the Kpando boys of victory ior even getting a draw.

Playing before their home supporters, B.A. Stars also had some glorious moments in the first half to wrap up the game but they squandered all the goal-scoring chances that came their way through erratic shooting up-front.

They, however, maintained their persistent attack until the 43rd minute when Larbi was brought down in the penalty-box and he elected himself to take the kick beautifully to beat goalkeeper Joseph Addo for the match winner.

The second half saw the two sides fighting hard but none of them could find the net till FIFA referee Mercy Tagoe whistled for the end of proceddings. 05 Sept. 10
