Tema-based Power F/C scored a sweet lone goal away victory over Sunyani Tano Bofoakwa in their GT-sponsored Premier League match at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Sunday.
The first half recorded no goal.
The 72nd minute goal was scored by Awudu Adama who headed home Francis Impraim's perfect cross from the left flank to the utter disgust and disappointment of goalkeeper Ransford Cudjoe and his colleagues, the home fans and officials.
The beauty and neatness of the goal was such that there was nothing the home team could do to blame it on referee Nii Ashittey Armah of Accra and his assistants.
Captain Abeiku Aikins and his colleagues however have themselves to blame for allowing the visiting team to run away with the vital three points as they squandered uncountable goal-scoring chances, some begging ones especially in three occasions in the second half, when goalkeeper Alfred Mills had been displaced in the post.
The attackers of Bofoakwa could not capitalize on any of the chances that came their way and allowed the defence of the visitors to clear them away through their well c0oordinated defensive work led by captain Mohammed Bello, Impraim, Alex Dzanie and Odartey Lawson.
Bofoakwa's strikers made up of Nuhey Emmanuel, Opoku Antwi, Reuben Senyo, Abu Issah and Yaw Antwi woefully failed to make their supporters savour the day and it was little wonder when after the final whistle most of the players broke in tears while referee Armah and his colleagues freely walked away to the dressing room signifying a good job done for the 90-minute period. 15 May 05
