Real Tamale United (RTU) made a sweet revenge when they defused the power of visiting Tano Bofoakwa by beating them four goals to one in their GT Premier League match at the Tamale Kaladan Sports stadium. RTU with their pride at stake following their last Sunday defeat to Bofoakwa in Sunyani by four goals to nil, plunged swiftly into the game with all determination and seriousness.
They deservedly registered the first goal in the eighth minute through Gafaru Abdulai who had an easy task of tapping the ball into the net from a neat pass from a colleague.
The early goal gingered up the Boafokwa boys into fully attack in an effort to draw even and prove that they were not a push-over side and rightly came up with the equalizer in the 14th minute through their hardworking Doe Joseph.
RTU took up the challenge and immediately in a counter attack, Mohammed Baker scored their second goal in the 16th minute. With the partisan home supporters yearning for more goals, Gafaru Abdulai again came up with the third goal in 22nd minute when he lobbed the ball into the net after receiving a neat pass from Hamza Mohammed who had a great game on the day.
RTU's head striker Alhassan Weah who for sometime now had not been scoring for his side headed the ball into the net for the fourth goal in the 34th minute to bring the first half to an end.
As the second half progressed, the game became drab a one with complacency taken the better of the RTU players as they lost concentration and kept on losing the fifty-fifty balls to the Bofoakwa boys who took over by dictating the pace of the game.
Bofoakwa's dominance was however short-lived as RTU took over the attack and the visitors had to defend strongly to stop RTU from scoring more goals till Referee Thomas Nunoo from Accra brought the game to an end.
