At the Tema Sports Stadium, a 79th minute goal scored by Victor Ayireh enabled Real Sportive to beat visiting Dansoman-based Liberty Professionals 1-0 in their last but one match of the GT Premier League encounter.
The match started on a fast note with both sides fighting hard in search of the opener in the early stages of the game as their attackers made occasional incursions into each other's territory but failing to score.
Liberty's Kwame Obeng-Darko nearly broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute but his shot narrowly missed the target.
As the two teams were determined to participate in the Top Four competition, they started the second session with determination and tight marking in an effort to carry the day but their attack was found wanting on some occasions.
Sportive's Mark Adu Amofa who was put through in the 67th minute messed up the golden chance to give his side the lead as he fumbled in front of goal.
The game from then on became a ding-dong affair until the 79th minute when Ayireh broke the deadlock with his effort at goal. Liberty launched a last minute attack in an effort to redeem the goal but try as they did they could not succeed as poor shooting upfront by their attackers robbed them of the much-neded equalizer.
