At Koforidua, Stay Cool Professionals beat visiting Sekondi Hasaacas one nil in their match played at their newly adopted Koforidua home grounds. Thanks to a 21st-minute strike by their centre forward , Patrick Afutu. The Stay Cool Boys managed to hold on to their lead and kept the ball in the half of the Sekondi boys till the dying minutes of the second half and before Hasaacas came to the realisation that they might be loosing the whole three points at stake it was too late. Hence from the 70th minute onwards, the Hasaacas players improved upon their game and started chasing the ball every where all over the field.
However the Stay Cool boys cooled the Hasaacas pressure off by clearing all balls that got to their half into the area of Hasaacas for their forwards to sort it out with the defence of the visitors. The Stay Cool strategy nearly paid off in the 78th minute when their left out, Masaudu Abass picked a pass in the penalty box and caught the defence of Hasaacas ball watching but with only the keeper to beat, he shot over the bar.
The fighting Hasaacas also nearly had the equaliser in the 86th minute when their substitute player, Stephen Sekyere rushed on goalkeeper Philip Boakye in the post of Stay Cool after he has been given a back pass outside the penalty box and managed to dispossessed him of the ball. Instead of juggling with the ball into the penalty box to slot it into the empty net, he in a hurry tried a long range shot which went off target to the annoyance of his team-mates.
