Vipers maintain lead as they pip Nadel Rovers

Cape Coast, June 22, GNA - Cape Coast Venomous Vipers maintained their lead in the Zone One League table with 12 points when they dished out a painful 1-0 defeat to Cape Coast Nadel Rovers in their Central Region Division Two League match played at the Robert Mensah stadium, Cape Coast on Saturday. Nadel Rovers who were determined to beat Vipers matched them boot for boot until half time. Back from recess, the game became a ding-dong affair as both teams played an uncompromising attacking game before Vipers midfielder Musa Yaya pounced on a loose one in the '18' yard to score the match winner in the dying minutes.

Results of the other matches were Adisadel Great Astronomers drew 1-1 with Nsamka F/C, Agona Fankobaa lost 1-2 to Achiase Black Stone, Asafo United F/C were spanked 0-3 by Winneba Soccer Interlectualls, Senya Bereku UBR drew 2-2 against Amanfro Young Hearts. In a related development, the Regional Football Association released the midweek fixtures for matches in the division to the GNA Sports on Monday.

Cape Coast Nadel Rovers will host Abreshia United at the Robert Mensah stadium on Wednesday June 24. Oguaa United will clash with Adisadel Great Astronomers at the Adisadel College Park while Nsamka F/C will sort it out with Jukwa Surowi F/C at Abreshia with Bronyibima F/C meeting Agona Abrem Shalom F/C at Bronyibima.

Abura Dunkwa Schalke 04 will vie with Akroma Ako Stars at Abura Dunkwa and Saltpond Kampsite vie against Saltpond Brondby F/C at Asebu. Amosima Kingdom F/C will vie with Edumfa Galaxy F/C at Amoshima while UCC Mighty Youngsters meet Saltpond Striking Force at the UCC Park. Gomoa Gyaman Sinapi F/C will host Mankessim Nikwab Professionals at Gomoa Gyaman, Saltpond Mighty Victory will lock horns against Swedru Amanpong F/C at Agoma Swedru. 22 June 09
