On the night of May 29, 2011, the WKF-National Title Fight got underway in an explosive fashion at Ghana’s biggest night club, Vienna City as Isaac Doku and Steavano Tuekpe poised to compete for the first World Kickboxing Federation- Ghana National Title Fight.
As curtain raisers to the night’s main event, there were enthralling bouts in the super welter and light welter weight as well as an open boxing fight. The Super welter weight division had WKF-ranked Gerald Dah delight the audience as he completely out boxed Okpodjah Tetteh shortly before Raphael Boadzo stylishly out – pointed Issaka Issah in the light welter weight division bout.
Prince Okine took on WKF champion, Stephen Abbey in a very entertaining open boxing fight that brought lots of delight among the audience; this bout ended in a draw.
What was billed as the clash of the titans eventually took place and lived up to expectations as Isaac Doku engaged Steavano Tuekpe in a fierce 5-round Light Middle Weight division bout characterized with lots of energy and stylish techniques; Isaac Doku was declared winner at the end of the bout.
The Title-fight has indeed sent a message across the nation that Kickboxing exists in Ghana, and that our dear nation is endowed with great talents.
