The All People’s Congress (APC) has unveiled its 2024 running mate candidate to partner with Flagbearer, Dr Hassan Ayariga, ahead of the December polls.

The party appointed Rev. Dr. Samuel Worlanyo Mensah as its running mate during an unveiling event on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the GNAT Hall.

Addressing attendees and party members at the event, APC leader, Dr Hassan Ayariga, called on Ghanaians to oppose the NPP and the NDC, whom he accused of mismanaging the country.

According to him, voter apathy will only worsen the plight of the country if the masses refuse to exercise their voting rights.

“When we refuse to make changes, then we are endorsing corruption, mismanagement, bad leadership. We have seen the leadership of both parties, the NDC and NPP, they are not new to us, 16 years each of the NDC and the NPP and we are crying for change. The Ghanaian people have been crying for change. Every day, you keep saying you want to change but you are adamant in making the change.

“You say that when you vote the other political parties, they are not going to win. But I disagree with that. It is only when you make that change that the other political parties will win. We do not sit down and fold our arms and allow certain groups of people and crop of leadership to mismanage our country and then we sit aloof and say we are tired. We don’t want to see them; we don’t want to vote them but you don’t come out to vote so their die-hard members will come out to vote for them to win. They will get a leader that you don’t want to have because you have refused to make that change,” he said.

Dr Ayariga added that the power to effect change lies in the hands of the masses, urging voters to make the APC the third force in the political sphere.

“… We the APC are offering ourselves to the 7 million Ghanaians who do not want to vote for NDC and NPP. Make us the third force because we are the third force for you. You can’t sit down and think that the third force must come automatically, the third force can only come when you Ghanaians make that decision,” he urged.
