2024 Elections: PNC to elect its flagbearer on August 31

The People's National Convention (PNC) has announced that it will elect its flagbearer for the 2024 general elections and other executives of the party on Saturday, August 31, 2024.

According to the party, the decision was taken at a recent National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on August 10.

It also constituted a Congress Committee and various ad hoc committees to oversee the elections.

In a statement issued by the acting General Secretary of the PNC, Prince Agyemang Duah, to announce the party’s primaries, after the meeting, he said interested members had been asked to pick up their forms at the party headquarters from Monday, August 12, to Saturday, August 17, 2024, according to a report by graphic.com.gh.

So far, the former National Chairman of the PNC, Bernard Mornah; and the 2020 flagbearer aspirant, Sampson Asaki Awingobit, have expressed their desires to run for the PNC’s flagbearer position.

The party on June 13, 2024, issued a statement to announce the opening of nominations. It said the cost of forms and filing fees for aspiring presidential candidates is pegged at GH¢100,000.

The party also said it has scheduled plans till August 31, 2024, to complete its primaries to contest this year’s elections.
