Former President and Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama, has cautioned the New Patriotic Party and the Electoral Commission that the party will resist every attempt to steal the elections.

Addressing party faithful and sympathisers at the NDC’s final rally at the Zurak Park at Madina on Thursday, December 5, 2024, Mahama urged electoral authorities, the security services, and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to ensure a fair election process.

“I want to caution the NPP administration, the security services and the entire body of people who are in charge of supervising this election. I urge you to resist the nefarious actions that some people are planning.

“To the people of Ghana, the National Democratic Congress will go to the polling station with you. Together, we will police and courageously protect our votes and resist all attempts to steal them,” he stated.

Both the NDC and the NPP concluded their months of campaigning for the 2024 elections with grand rallies in Accra.

While the NPP held its rally at the University of Ghane, the NDC was at Madina, only separated by about 5 kilometers apart.

Ghanaian voters will go to the polls on Saturday, December 7, 2024, to vote for a new president, as well as 276 Members of Parliament across the country.
