The presidency has revealed the official list of ministerial nominations, including regional ministers, by President John Dramani Mahama to play key roles in his cabinet.

According to the official list, 12 ministerial nominations have been made so far for the ministries, with the Appointments Committee of Parliament having already vetted three and now awaiting approval.

For the regions, 13 regional ministerial nominations have been made out of the 16 in the country.

The high-profile nominations align with President Mahama’s commitment to running a streamlined government of 60 ministers, after eliminating some ministries and merging others.

At the top of the list is Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minister of Finance-designate; John Abdulai Jinapor, the Minister of Energy-designate; and Dominic Akutiringa Ayine, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice-designate.

Other recent nominees include Haruna Iddrisu for the Ministry of Education, Eric Opoku for the Ministry of Food and Agriculture-designate, Kwame Governs Agbodza for the Ministry of Roads and Highways-designate, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare for the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry-designate, and Abla Dzifa Gomashie for the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts-designate.

Also nominated are Ahmed Ibrahim for the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs-designate, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey for the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection-designate, Emelia Arthur for the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture-designate, and George Opare-Addo for the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment-designate.

The regional ministers nominated are Adolf Ali John as the Northern Regional Minister-designate, John Kwadwo Agyapong as the Oti Regional Minister-designate, James Gunu as the Volta Regional Minister-designate, Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey as the Eastern Regional Minister-designate, Ibrahim Tia as the North East Regional Minister-designate, Dr. Frank Amoakohene as the Ashanti Regional Minister-designate, Akamugri Donatus Atanga as the Upper East Regional Minister-designate, Charity Gardiner as the Ahafo Regional Minister-designate.

Others are Salisu Be-Awuribe as the Savannah Regional Minister-designate, Linda Ocloo as the Greater Accra Regional Minister-designate, Wilbert Petty Brentum as the Western North Regional Minister-designate, Eduamoah Ekow Panyin Okyere as the Central Regional Minister-designate, and Joseph Nelson as the Western Regional Minister-designate.
