New Patriotic Party’s (NPP’s) communicator, Awal Mohammed has disclosed that Member of Parliament(MP) for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa had intentions of bullying former information minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah over the Akosombo Dam spillage resettlement.

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Chairman of Parliament’s Governance and Assurance Committee, clashed with the Minister for Works and Housing, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah after he asked him to withdraw and apologize for calling his committee’s position a “bully pulpit.”

The disagreement emerged amid discussions regarding delays in finishing housing units for families affected by the Akosombo dam spillage in 2023.

During an Onua FM interview with Nana Yaa Brefo, Awal Mohammed said that Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa did not allow Kojo Oppong to respond to him.

He emphasized that the committee chairman was bullying Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and attacking his personality.

“If Oppong Nkrumah had lied, it would have been known per evidence. But Okudzeto kept calling Kojo Oppong insincere when he was telling the committee the truth. He wanted Kojo Oppong to lie so he would use it against him later. Look at the posture of Okudzeto, even his colleague MPs were surprised. His people were not even happy about how he was battering with Kojo Oppong. You give your opinion but refuse to allow Kojo Oppong to respond. He attacked the personality of Oppong Nkrumah and refused to allow him to respond,” he disclosed.
