Ablekumah West NDC shakes Dansoman

with ‘Gargantuan’ Victoria Hamah Health Walk
NDC party loyalists and sympathisers of Ablekumah West Constituency brought parts of Dansoman High Street and suburbs to a standstill on Sunday morning in an unprecedented keep fit exercise organised by the NDC constituency office.
The keep fit walk dubbed “Victoria Hamah Health Walk” began at 6.30am on Sunday, saw party faithfuls and loyalists, sympathisers, constituency party executives walked briskly amid brass band music and Jamma songs in support of the NDC parliamentary candidate for Ablekumah West Constituency, Miss Victoria Hamah.
Miss Victoria Hamah was joined by the constituency executives, notably the women organiser, Haji a Mohammed, the constituency secretary, William Ocansey, Deputy Organiser Dickson Lekey and Mr Isaac Amartey Constituency organiser.
The Health Walk exercise which lasted for nearly 4 hours started from Ablekumah West constituency suburb popularly called 205, through the streets of Shaibu, Gbe Gbeisei, Mpoasei, Dansoman last stop, Exhibition Roundabout; and through the newly constructed Dansoman High Street to Russia road to the Dansoman Roundabout and back to the campaign office.
The health walk was unprecedented in the history of the newly created Ablekumah West Constituency. The enthusiasm, the jubilations and the high number of members clad in party colours of red, green and white who took part in the walk made the event historic. The exercise brought parts of the Dansoman township to a standstill as onlookers blocked the traffic to have a quick look at the NDC prospective parliamentary candidate for the constituency. There were occasional scramble for party T shirts being distributed. The activity was breath taking as the procession passed through pockets of the opposition strong holds at Tony Park and B. A. Opoku suburbs.
Speaking at the end of the exercise, Miss Hamah said the objective of the keep fit walk was to remind party members that the NDC was ready for the task ahead during next week’s presidential and parliamentary elections.
She said “the keep fit exercise was to ensure that party members remained fit and prepared to make the last push of the campaign for the NDC and President John Mahama to be retain in power on December 7”
Miss Hamah encouraged members to continue to campaign from house to house, market to market, church to church, mosque to mosque and everywhere that two or three people are gathered in their neighbourhoods until victory is assured.
She said the NDC government’s unprecedented achievements in education, health; agriculture, road infrastructure and the buoyant economy make it essential for registered party members in the constituency turn out in their numbers on Election Day to vote to retain the NDC and President John Mahama in power on December 7.
The project was really one that sent shivers down the spines of the opposition spectators who could only watch in amazement at the number of participants stretched from the Dansoman post office to beyond the Control Car Wash Bay. The event ended at Victoria Hamah’s Campaign Office located off the Dansoman High Street near the Exhibition Roundabout with light refreshments; amidst drumming and dancing.
The Health Walk exercise was a spectacular event for the eyes to see; mixed together with acrobatic and cultural displays.
